About National Entrance Screening Test (NEST)

National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is administered by the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) and University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS). The NEST exam is organized to offer admissions into 5 years integrated M.Sc programmes offered by NISER and UM-DAE CBS. The candidates who joined the programme are eligible to receive an annual scholarship of Rs 60,000 either through the INSPIRE program of Department of Science and Technology or the DISHA program of Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. The candidates who applied for the NEST Exam Before the Application Last Date are Eligible to get NEST Admit Card 2020 from the Official Website.

Exam Pattern for NEST 2020

• The NEST question paper consists of objective type questions.
• No negative marking for general section.
• There will be negative marking Scheme for remaining subjects for wrong answers.

Note: The Candidates are allowed to attempt all the subjects as they wish. Only three subjects score along with the general section score counted for evaluation and merit list preparation. In subject sections, for certain questions, there will be negative marking for some questions. Some questions may contain one or more correct answers for which marks can only be earned by marking all correct answers and no wrong answer.
