About Nagaland Board of Secondary Education
NBSE was abbreviated as Nagaland Board of Secondary Education. The NBSE was established through an Act by the Nagaland Legislative Assembly & received the approval of the Governor on 15th November 1973. The board is responsible for improvement and growth of secondary and higher secondary education in Nagaland. NBSE conducted its first High School Leaving Certificate Examination at 6 (six) centres, for 2008 (two thousand and eight) students. It is a state government educational body of Nagaland in India. The headquarters of Nagaland Board is located at Kohima.
The official language of NBSE is English. The board organizes 10th and 12th examinations at the state level. The objective of NBSE is to prescribe the syllabus and textbooks, courses of instruction for examinations and to publish exam routine and result for the both private and govt schools that affiliated with Nagaland board. Also, the NBSE ( Amendment ) Act 1990 empowers the Board to conduct the HSSLC (Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate) Examination under the three streams such as Science, Arts, and Commerce.
